I Love Top Ten Lists

Henry Lowood, the curator of the Stanford University History of Science and Technology Collections, released his list of the 10 most important video games of all time. In modern days, video games have taken a great importance in culture and science, particularly in Europe and North America. Here’s their choices:

Spacewar! (1962)
Star Raiders (1979)
Zork (1980)
Tetris (1985)
SimCity (1989)
Super Mario Bros. 3 (1990)
Civilization I / II (1991)
Doom (1993)
Warcraft (Series) (1994)
Sensible World of Soccer (1994)

Here’s my choices for the 10 most important games of all time:

Spacewar! (1962) -This is pretty much where it all started
Pong (1972) -Pong pretty much invented home gaming
Pac-Man (1980) -I can’t believe they skipped this one
Dragon’s Lair (1983) -Years ahead of itself
King’s Quest (1983) -The first great adventure game
Super Mario Brothers 3 (1990) -Pretty much the best Mario game ever
John Madden Football (1990) -The most important sports franchise ever
Sonic The Hedgehog (1991) -The game that stole Nintendo’s crown
Doom (1993) -An obvious pick
Halo (2001) -Symbolized the next generation in online warfare

You may or may not agree with my list ,but what does some Princeton nerd know anyway?
